Dr. Golembeski joined PathGroup in January 2022, as Chairman of the Department of Pathology for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. A native of Cincinnati, OH, Dr. Golembeski graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He then continued at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine earning his medical degree in 1999, followed by post-graduate education at the University of Michigan including residencies in Internal Medicine and Anatomic Pathology, fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary Pathology, and a visiting fellowship at Oxford University Hospitals (John Radcliffe) in the United Kingdom. He has served as Director of Hepatopathology in Phoenix, AZ, and Associate Director of Women’s Health Labs in Memphis, TN. Prior to assuming the current role of Chairman at Baptist, he completed an executive MBA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. Dr. Golembeski has several peer-reviewed publications and is a Fellow member of the College of American Pathologists. His areas of expertise include oncologic pathology (with subspecialty interest in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology), physician leadership, resource utilization, operational efficiency, team building, alignment between departments, and promoting the critical role of pathology on the delivery of high-quality multidisciplinary care to patients.
