PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE

Location: Brentwood, TN

Duties:

  • Review past due accounts and recommend whether account should be written off, referred to collection agency or set up on monthly payment schedule with patient for minimum payments each month.
  • Utilize review reports to identify reimbursement problems with insurance companies.
  • Compose letters to insurance companies to resolve reimbursement problems.
  • Telephone insurance companies to resolve contract issues regarding rates of payment.
  • Send reviews to insurance companies to include pathology reports and indicate payment problems.
  • Must be familiar with Corporate Compliance Program and Corporate Policies.
  • All other assigned duties.
Hours: Monday - Friday Days
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Two to four years of prior job-related experience is required.

  • Personal computer experience and medical insurance knowledge are required.

  • Good telephone and communication skills are required.

 

ACCESSIONING CLERK

Location:

Nashville, TN

Duties:

  • Receives specimens from couriers and verifies that specimens recorded on courier logs are received. 
  • Triages, prioritizes, and sorts specimens appropriately for accessioning and processing. 
  • Performs data entry login of patient demographics, clinical information, specimen source, and test(s) orders from specimen requisitions into computer systems and accessions specimen containers as needed or required.
  • Checks test(s) ordered for medical necessity requirements and ABN if applicable.  Documents any orders, which are lacking appropriate documentation to supervisor.
  • Documents all problem cases appropriately.
  • Scans requisitions and all related paperwork, into the scan system, and shreds documents as needed.
  • Reviews specimen requisitions against data entry of requisition information, for accuracy, documents errors noted and forwards documentation to supervisor, and corrects errors found. 
  • Answers departmental phone calls and assists clients as needed.
  • Exercises all laboratory safety precautions and adheres to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
  • Contributes to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department and company.
  • Abides by all regulatory, company and departmental regulations, policies and procedures, including the Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.
   
Hours: M-F 7pm-3am
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Typing / data entry experience required.

  • Medical laboratory experience preferred. 

  • Must be detail oriented.

 

MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST

Nashville, TN

Duties:

  • Perform data entry, answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate personnel and communicate with clients, as necessary.
  • Prepare and send slides requested by other Pathology departments and file slides and paperwork.
  • Routine clerical duties including filing, faxing, receiving and distributing mail.
  • Transcribe gross, microscopic, diagnostic, surgical pathology, autopsy, and cytology reports; type general correspondence for Pathologists.
  • Must be familiar with Corporate Compliance Program and Corporate Policies.
  • All other assigned duties.
Hours: PRN
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Medical terminology, accurate typing skills (75–80 words per minute) and professional phone skills required.

  • Six months to one year of prior job-related experience is required OR transcription certified.

 

TRANSCRIPTIONIST / HISTOLOGY ASSISTANT

Duties:

  • Transcribe gross, microscopic, diagnostic, surgical pathology, autopsy, and cytology reports; type general correspondence for Pathologists.
  • Print and process pathology reports.
  • Assist admin assistant, dept secretary and reporting positions.
  • Receive, sort, triage and accession all tissue specimens and make cassettes.
  • Performs data entry of patient demographics.
  • Assist pathologist/PA in cutting room.
  • Answers departmental phone calls and assists clients as needed.
  • Clean cutting room and keep supplied properly.
  • Photograph specimens (Polaroid and 35 mm).
  • Properly hang tissue on the processors.
  • Keep quality control charts on equipment in the accession and cutting room.
  • Prepare routine solutions and maintain an inventory of supplies
  • Responsible for proper disposal and handling of hazardous waste to include xylene recycling (i.e. xylene, reagent alcohol, formaldehyde) and dispose of specimens according to procedures.
  • Review procedure manuals and stay current with procedural changes
  • Must be familiar with Corporate Compliance Program and Corporate Policies.
  • All other assigned duties.
Hours: Monday-Friday 11am - 7:30pm / 1 Saturday every 12 weeks
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical terminology (preferably pathology), accurate typing skills (60-70 words per minute) and professional phone skills required.
  • Six months to one year of prior job-related experience is required.
  • Good phone and communication (written and verbal) skills are required.
