PathGroup,

and its affiliated Associated Pathologists
physician group, offers a modern one-stop shop
for the latest in sophisticated diagnostic services
covering all aspects of clinical and anatomic pathology
in the southeast and lower midwest. PathGroup
Labs offers the full range of clinical pathology

while
Associated

all pathology subspecialties. The combined test
menu offering also includes the latest in automated
pap smear screening technology, as well as the
latest in molecular testing capabilities to detect
the four most common forms of sexually transmitted
diseases, all from one patient sample.
The
organizations together currently consist of over
50 pathologists and 300 employees, and share
sophisticated infrastructure such as information
systems, marketing, and courier services, while
providing the highest quality medical diagnostic
services available to physician offices, hospitals,
members of hospital medical staffs, surgery centers,
clinics, and the communities at large in both rural
and urban settings in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana,
Illinois, North Carolina, and Georgia.
PathGroup
and its affiliated organizations and clients
benefit from PathGroup’s experienced
management team and financial resources, as well
as PathGroup’s major investments in information
technology. Our information technology includes
a recently introduced web based order/entry and
results reporting system for clients called PathConnect

negative pap smear results called MyResults. Direct
system interfaces with hospitals and other clients
to our clinical software are available in mutually
beneficial circumstances.

| Affiliated
Physician Groups and Practice Management |
| PathGroup’s
origin dates back to the physician practice management
industry with a then sole focus
on partnering with anatomic pathology groups in a
non-controlling equity structure. This structure
allows the pathologists to control the professional
practice of medicine, while PathGroup handles all
other aspects of the business. PathGroup
maintains management services agreements
with Associated Pathologists and Marin
Medical Group, with such arrangements continuing
to be highly beneficial to all parties involved.
These physician groups continue to take advantage
of PathGroup’s financial resources, business
expertise, non-physician laboratory technical
employees, information systems, centralized billing
and collection,
marketing, third party payer negotiations, and
other administrative functions. Additionally,
with PathGroup adding the full range of clinical
pathology
services via PathGroup Labs, our affiliated physicians
are able to enjoy added benefits by either being
part of a one-stop offering for all pathology
services, or as an owner in PathGroup.
